McKinsey Survey of International Patients Debunks Five Myths About Digital Health
Across the globe, digital health tools are in demand! According to a new study from McKinsey, 75 percent of patients surveyed in the UK, Germany and Singapore want to use digital health services. Even better, it’s apparently not just millennials eager to try new technology. Patients over 50 years old reported nearly the same enthusiasm for new digital health services as their younger counterparts. But even though demand is strong, McKinsey says adoption is slow because existing solutions don’t meet patients’ needs or are low quality. For startups innovating in this space, that means new opportunities. Study: Mobile Health Improves Engagement Among Medicaid Patients
A little text message-based encouragement can go a long way when it comes to patient adherence, according to the results of a new study from StartUp Health company Sense Health and Montefiore Medical Center. Interactive text messages that reminded Medicaid patients of upcoming appointments increased adherence by 40 percent. Patient motivation saw an upswing, too: patients using Sense Health’s technology were 26 percent more confident about tackling their health problems head on than those in the control group.
